It might be a little unseasonal to be going insane with juice recipes, but I can’t help it. I’ve discovered these vitamin rich gems and I cannot stop making juices! Luckily, there are still some fresh frozen berries in the freezer from this summer. The only thing I’ll ask for for my birthday will be a juicer which I won’t even be able to use at school. Oy. But for the next two weeks I will perfect my juicing skills, making juices the old fashioned way: blending the fruits and veggies and straining them through cheesecloth. It’s definitely not the most efficient way but then I have to get to work for my nutrients, also the old fashioned way. Here are the juices (and a smoothie) I can’t wait to blend up:
Cranberry cocktail:
1 red apple
1 cup fresh cranberries
Frozen blueberries.
Superfruit Smoothie (a là Green Kitchen Stories):
1 cup blueberries (frozen)
1 cup raspberries (frozen)
2 kiwi fruits (peeled)
2 oranges (peeled)
oat milk (?)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp linseed oil (I’ll probably use coconut oil)
It will be easy to half this recipe too. Although since it doesn’t have any vegetables my family might actually try this!
GREEN juice (a là Bonsai Aphrodite):
Knob of ginger
A whole cucumber
Kale
Squeeze of lemon
Apple Pie Juice:
Green apple
Peeled sweet potato
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
Did I mention that I’m planning on saving the fiber-rich pulps and making some sort of pancakes or bread from them? It’s genius, have a look!
